COLLAGEN

Collagen is an important component in the human body. About one quarter of all of the protein in your body is collagen. It constitutes up to 70% of our skin. It is mainly vital for its ability to hold connective tissues of the skin together. Bones and teeth are made of by adding mineral crystals to collagen. Collagen provides structure to our bodies, protecting and supporting the softer tissues and connecting them with the skeleton. But, in spite of its critical function in the body, collagen is a relatively simple protein. Humans towards their late stages of life, starts to lose elasticity of their skin due to the reduction of collagen to these skin areas. This results in wrinkles and eye bags. It is found that around the age of 25 our body slowly reduces production of collagen and by the age of 45 it is estimated around 30 percent of our body’s collagen as been reduced. This is due to constantly facing overwhelming stress, inadequate sleep, an unhealthy diet.

Collagen is actually composed of three chains, wound together in a tight triple helix. The illustration included here shows only a small segment of the entire molecule, where each of the chain is over 1400 amino acids long and only about 20 are shown here. A repeated sequence of three amino acids forms this sturdy structure. Every third amino acid is glycine, a small amino acid that fits perfectly inside the helix. Many of the remaining positions in the chain are filled by two unexpected amino acids: proline and a modified version of proline, hydroxyproline. We wouldn't expect proline to be this common, because it forms a kink in the polypeptide chain that is difficult to accommodate in typical globular proteins.

Collagen is said to contain at least 20 amino acids some namely glucosamine and chondroitin.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar and prominent precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids.

Chondroitin is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) which compose a chain of sugars. The chains can have over 100 sugars which can be sulfated in variable positions and quantities.

Mostly hydolyzed collagen is extracted from bone and skin of porcine, bovine and fish origin. but this hydrolyzed MARINE collagen is extracted from a range of fish close to cod family. they took the raw material, the frozen fish skin all the way from North Alantic to Spain. Then they treated the material to obtain the desired high quality of collagen. It is very important to treat it as soon as possible because need to get the best quality out of it so as to set up an exclusively dedicated facility to process the freshest available cod skin.

NH Colla Plus is a concentrated hydrolyzed marine collagen beauty drink specially formulated for Asians. In each of the bottle of NH Colla Plus contains 5000 mg of collagen. Therefore in the future of beauty products, collagen is said to be the leading the charge towards long lasting and efficient beauty products. Collagen beauty products present today are getting more and more advance and effective. Its ability to restore youth looking skin by tightening the connective tissues of the skin together has almost been maxed.

SKIN WHITENING PILLS

Have you ever wondered why there are so many Western, Asian and Hindu celebrities are getting all having very light skinned? Have you ever wondered why most of the top celebs have darker skin color in their early childhood photos than they have now?

Cannot be deny that nowadays the advancement of the technologies have accomplished many impossible matters around the world. The discovery of skin whitening pills was launched on 7 August 1961 by a group of specialized clinical researchers headed by a leading figure in the dermatology research field in Japan. Therefore, for many of the ladies, the dreams of having a brighten skin is not a dream anymore!

The function of the whitening pill is that it reverses the dark melanin pigments turning to a light pigments and inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, which is responsible for the production of melanin, thus turning skin into a lighter tone. Almost all the whitening pills around the world products contain the ingredient of glutathione (GSH), alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), Grape seed Extract, and L-Glutathione.

The another ingredient which present in the skin whitening pills is Alpha-Lipoic Acid which also named as lipoic acid or thioctic acid, is a sulfur-containing fatty acid that available inside every cell of the human body. Alpha-Lipoid Acid is an organosulfur compound origin from octanoic acid. LA contains two vicinal sulfur atoms (at C6 and C8) attached through a disulfide bond and is thus considered to be oxidized.

The important role of alpha-lipoic acid is to produce the needs of energy for the living organisms keep on function and alive. It is also act a powerful antioxidant that neutralized the unstable molecules which is the free radical. It also helps to maintain the skin healthy and younger. However the overdose of taking this chemical which is over 100mg daily can cause nausea and upset stomachs and the further doses of it will lead to low blood sugar.

Vitamin C is an effective water soluble vitamin and antioxidant that act as the important role in this product as it will maintain Glutathione in its absorbable or usable and reduced (L-Glutathione) form. Vitamin C also known as ascorbate and ascorbic acid which is the reduced form of Vitamin C, but is also act as an antioxidant that works well with E, and provide the co-factors to enable GSH to work. The side effects of over dosages can cause to diarrhea and cramps. Vitamin C helps to brighten the skin effectively but it is seldom used in the formulation of the cosmetic because its concentration is much higher while used in the test.

It is metabolized to α and β oxycodoloxymorphone, then α and β oxymorphol and noroxymorphone; and noroxycodone, then α and β noroxycodol and noroxymorphone (N-desmethyloxycodone). These painkillers are different from morphine or others, as it is metabolized by the cytochrome enzyme system. There are two types of diet pills the chemical contain pills or the natural pills like the herbal treatments, laxatives, natural extracts and formulas that advertise themselves as appetite suppressants, metabolism boosters and immune enhancers.

The most common drug used for weight loss are known as the anorexiants. It is true that most of these drugs may help. However, they must know that these amount of drugs are suppose to use with the right amount which includes exercise and eating habits. Most drugs loses their effectives after some time and these cause consumer to increase their dosage which can be addicted and thus lead to dangerous health conditions.

Other pills also contain phenylpropanolamine which is mostly found as Acutrim and Dexatrim effectively suppress appetite. These drug may cause consumer to have high blood pressure and stroke if taken in doses of 75 mg or higher in the immediate-release form.

There are also Herbal Phen-Fen, PhenTrim, Phen-Cal, Xenadrine that contains ephedrine which is derived from the ephedra which is also known as herb. Ephedrine is known as the component of adreline and cause the heartbeat to increase, high blood pressure, phychosis, heart attacks and seizures. There is also another one that may cause the same side effect which is the pseudoephedrine which can be found in antihistamines.

Orlistat which is also known as xenical helps most of obese patients. It blocks the action of lipase, the enzyme in the intestine and does not increase serotonin. However, this drug also lead to gastrointestinal problems and also may distrupt the intake of vitamin A,D and E or some other nutrients.

For most serious side effects, serotonin-releasing anorexiants increases the amount of serotonin that prevents the depression and reduces the calories consumption. These long term intake of this drug may lead to the development of abnormalities in the valves of the heart which scientifically known as pummonary hypertension.

The drugs that cause additction, agitation and insomia like the amphetamines dextroamphetamine, methamphetamine and phenmetrazine. These drugs are no longer available as it caused harmly to human health.

Most diet pills, whether its natural or chemically constructed have some known side effects. Some of these side effects are not worth the risk. Do not be unduly influenced by the word "scientific". Be sure you know what is really meant by the claims that accompany the product. It is performance that counts.

Have a healthy diet lifestyle. Health is more important than anything else in the world.

LOVE THE LIPS

Cosmetic or make-up is something which woman now use frequently and even men. lipstick is one of the small part of make-up where is to moisten the lips or make it smacking red for appearance purposes. But they did not know that lipstick contain a lot of lead content which can cause a slow death by consuming it each time they apply. It was mention that 22 out of the 33 brand name lipsticks tested by an advocacy group recently were above the limits set for lead content in sweets by the FDA.

Lipstick doesn't have much of a proper chemical formula as it is a mixture. it mostly depends on the brand actually,it can either cause cancer, alter the hormonal structure and contain lead.

The lipstick composition, wherein said wax is selected from the group consisting of candelilla, carnauba, ozokerite, ceresin, white beeswax, yellow beeswax paraffin and petroleum-derived waxes. It is selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, olive oil, castor oil, lanolin oil, sesame oil, persic oil, soybean oil, squalene, and fatty esters. It is to having improved protection and moisturization for the lips, compromising 12% to 16% of a cosmetically acceptable wax, 50% to 70% of a cosmetically acceptable oil, 8% to 16% colorants, 8% to 14% of cetearyl isononanoate, 1% to 5% of sesquistearates selected from the group consisting of methyl glucose sesquistearate and sorbitan sesquistearate and mixtures thereof, and 5% to 15% of isopropyl hydroxystearate. It has aestethic performance of regular lipstick but is more effective as it soothes and protects the lips.

Cetearly Isononanoate is the ester of Cetearly Alcohol and a branches chain nonanoicacid. It acts as a plasticizer or wax softener which provide a smooth application enhance the composition to remain pliable on the lips.

The Sesquistearates provides like a "fine tuning" of the lipstick application and thus further plasticizing the wax and enhance it's spreadibility. it is usually selected from Methyl Glucose Sesquistearates or either Sorbitan Sesquistearates. The pictures below is the chemical structure of Methyl Glucose Sesquistearates.

Isopropyl Hydroxystearate provide as a pigment wetting means and emollient which enhance colour development and of course protect the lips.

Paraffin a form of wax contain in the lipstick. The wax forms a supporting medium that suspend the oil and colourant.

example of oils, the soybean oil may also frequently used in lipstick.

From 0.03 parts per million to 0.65 parts per million was the range of levels of Lead found in those 22 brand name lipsticks. Lead on lips can lead to lead toxicity. A lipstick that gives a bright colour to the lips may contain significant amounts of lead. Don't be mislead by the glow of the lipstick and chemical-free lipstick of possible.

As reported by the consumer magazine CERS, this few brands are reported as high lead content; Revlon, Elle 18, L’Oreal, Streetwear, Lakme, Maybelline etc.

Apparently the highest lead content ever found was Maybelline 09 Water shine Liquid Diamond lip-gloss which has 12 parts per million!

The level of lead in a lipstick can only be measured in laboratory. On an average a woman digest 2 kg of lipstick in her life time! The intake of the harmful chemical in the lipstick, lead, over time affects the woman. At the pregnancy state the intake of this chemical easily crosses the placenta and enters the fetus brain. This further affects in the development of the child.

Why was lipstick judged by the sweet limits? Well because in fact there are no limits set for lead content in lipsticks.

This means that the lipstick could be practically a soft bar of coloured lead!

As a matter of fact, since when was the last time you saw a list of ingredients and concentrations on any lipstick, ever?

Does anyone really read the label content on the lipstick?

But the research by CERS has revealed another truth. The labeling part which is mandatory was missing. Even batch number, license number was not printed. Almost 90 per cent of the lipsticks were not carrying the expiry date which is really very important for each buyer to see before buying anything. Such ignorance we are that we do not look at the list before we purchase the items.
